2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The CPC Central Committee and the Central Military Commission have decided to hold a military parade at Tiananmen Square in Beijing, marking a formalized arrangement for parades on major national anniversaries.
The parade will feature approximately 15,000 soldiers from the People's Liberation Army, the Armed Police Force, and the militia and reserve forces, along with 580 pieces of equipment, in 15 marching columns and 32 equipment columns. Over 160 aircraft from the army, navy, and air force will form 12 air echelons.
The "Gala to Commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War" ("Justice Will Prevail") is a gala co-hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, China Media Group, the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission, and the Beijing Municipal Government. It is one of a series of events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The gala will be held at 8:00 PM on September 3, 2025, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Xi Jinping and others will attend.
The gala, themed "Remembering History, Cherish the Martyrs, Cherishing Peace, and Creating the Future," features key historical milestones and scenes from the main battlefield of the World Anti-Fascist War in the East. It highlights the pivotal role of the Communist Party of China in the nation's resistance, deeply commemorates the revolutionary martyrs who fought bravely in the war, fully demonstrates China's unwavering commitment to safeguarding world peace and security, and demonstrates the eternal truth that justice will prevail, peace will prevail, and the people will prevail. The evening show strives to tell the story of the War of Resistance through art within the grand historical narrative, highlighting the characteristics of "drama" and striving to present an "epic" temperament. The evening show is presented through various stage art forms such as music, dance, and situational drama.
On the morning of September 3, 2025, a grand military parade will be held in Tiananmen Square in Beijing. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, will attend and deliver an important speech at the ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. This parade will no longer feature veterans of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Instead, veterans, veteran comrades, veteran militia members, representatives of exemplary local support workers, and representatives of the families of martyrs will be invited to observe the ceremony in person at Tiananmen Square. Furthermore, veterans of the Kuomintang's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression will be invited to observe the parade. This parade will showcase both traditional main battle forces and new capabilities in new domains and new qualities. All equipment on display is domestically produced, currently in service. In addition to showcasing new-generation traditional weaponry and equipment, we will also feature some new combat capabilities, such as unmanned intelligent warfare, underwater warfare, cyber-enabled attack and defense, and hypersonic warfare. This demonstrates our military's robust ability to adapt to technological advances and evolving warfare patterns and win future wars.
